Embraer Executive Jets adds HALTO Feature for Legacy 650

The Legacy 650 High Altitude Landing  and Takeoff Operation (HALTO) was certified by Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) in Brazil, affording an increased operating envelope for the large-category business aircraft. Certifications from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Europe and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the U.S. are expected shortly.

“This certification comes after the ultra-large Lineage 1000 HALTO certification in March and means all of our larger corporate jets can now operate at the highest airports in the world,” said Luciano Castro, Vice President Programs, Embraer Executive Jets. “This provides increased flexibility for operators who need this versatility.”

The HALTO certification allows the Legacy 650 to access high-altitude airports around the world including those in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, China, India, Nepal and the U.S. The Legacy 650 will now be able to serve airports located at altitudes up to 13,800 feet including La Paz, Bolivia at 13,357 feet and Shangri-la, China at 10,761 feet. Offered as an option, the certification follows HALTO certification for the Legacy 600 by ANAC and FAA. EASA is expected to certificate the super mid-size aircraft for HALTO shortly after the approval is granted to the Legacy 650.
