Turkish Airlines has been awarded a silver medal by the Stevie Awards in the category "The Best Internal Recognition/Motivational Event". THY was recognized for the March 15th event held at the Turkish Technic Hangar in Istanbul.
At the event, Turkish Airlines unveiled a newly painted B-737-800 that was covered with the photos of roughly 17,000 of the airline’s employees. The aircraft was given this special livery to acknowledge the dedication of its staff as the airline has grown and won numerous awards for excellence. There were 1,500 staff present at the unveiling and the aircraft is now in line service, carrying its message of staff service and quality across the network.
In 2012, there were over 3200 nominations in all categories and the winners were chosen by a panel of over 300 executives from around the world. The awards will be presented to winners at a gala 9th Annual awards banquet to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea on 15 October.
