Noppen, after conducting various successful Hotel & Resort events in Turkey, India and Vietnam, organised the 3rd Annual China Hotel and Resort Summit from June 28 -29, 2012, in Shanghai, China. This event provided a platform for industry leaders to discuss the prospects of tourism industry in China. The nation is touted to witness the highest growth in the tourism sector of Asia, as domestic tourism in China has seen an unprecedented increase in recent times. The rapid growth has attracted many major hotel operators to open new hotels in China. Statistics from the National Tourism Administration (NTA) shows that in 2010, the Chinese mainland attracted 134 million international visitors and by 2015 the number is expected to reach 153 million.
The forum brought together the world's prominent industry leaders and government officials, CEOs, Presidents, VPs, GMs, etc from domestic and foreign companies to discuss about the development of the Chinese hotel and resort industry, investment opportunities as well as the challenges faced. Some of renowned hotel companies that attended the show were Sun Hung Kai Properties, Wanda Hotels and Resorts, Galaxy Macau, the Ritz-Carlton etc.
Various topics related to the worldwide travel industry, future industry trends and China’s role in tourism industry were discussed elaborately by the veteran industry experts. Presentations on Policy & Market Analysis on the Tourism Industry in China, Green Hotels, and Small Boutique Resorts were staged during the two-day event.
At the end of both the days, panel discussions were conducted. The topics like “Future of Hospitality Development in China: What’s coming next?”, “Owning Your Guest is Owning Your Future” were conversed at the panel discussion. The panellist shared their views from the owner, developer and the operator’s perspective. Also at the Summit, there were quite a few introductions of innovative products and services by American Standard China, Bayer, IBM, Zucchetti Kos, Rentokil Initial, Nanjing Tiansu Automation Control System Co Ltd, and Caleido TOTO, Club Car Showcase, Grundfos, Scentair, PRECOR, Alliance Laundry Systems, King Koil, TYCO Thermal Controls Nilfisk Advance, HOBART, ARMSTRONG, LDS International, PAR and attending specialist Unilumin.
Whilst simultaneously providing a platform to listen to industry experts, find the best solution, and meet the future clients and partners in a private setting, this summit was also held to build on the ideals of development and co-operation amongst the prominent investor and developers interested in structuring the China’s tourism industry with more prosperity.
