Noppen, a leading international company facilitating businesses across Asia and Europe hosted their 2nd Annual Theme Park and Resort Expansion Summit from June 27 - 28 in Shanghai, China. This year the summit assembled high level professionals representing government departments, industry associations, real estate developers, theme park operators and entertainment facility suppliers from all over the world.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, by the year 2020, China will overtake France and Spain to become the world's main tourist destination. China’s Parks and Resorts welcome approximately 100 million visitors on an average per year and consume more than 100 billion RMB yearly.
Some topics that were discussed during the event included China’s latest industrial policies and project development, the overview and outlook for the theme park industry in China / Hong Kong 2012, the importance of social media in the industry, progress of major theme park projects (i.e. Shanghai Disney Resort, Zhejiang Hello Kitty Park, China’s Ocean Aquarium etc.), and global theme park management strategies.
