The 9th presentation of Beijing International Tourism Expo, popularly known as BITE accomplished on a high note after the three days mega tourism event. BITE unveiled its international showcase of destinations, tourism attractions, travel packages, products and services from June 15 – 17, 2012.
Organised by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, CEMS (Beijing) Conference & Exhibition Co., Ltd and Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd, the 9th edition of BITE played a host to a total of 929 exhibitors and 220 trade buyers from 80 countries and 25 cities, provinces and autonomous regions, as well as a whopping 2,757 domestic and international visitors.
Committed to presenting the highest quality of exhibitors, buyers and visitors across the region, BITE 2012 was jam-packed with tourism destinations, attractions and travel-related goods and services from the Chinese tourism market. Recognised as one of the leading expositions catering to the tourism and travel sector in China, BITE 2012 welcomed a total of nine new participating countries namely Croatia, Dominican Republic, Iran, Israel, Nepal, Mauritius, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden.
One of the main attractions of the event was–‘Destinations’ Presentation Session’, a new marketing and promotion initiative. It was well received by the exhibitors, international visitors, trade buyers and media. Exhibitors from National Tourist Organizations (NTOs), airlines and travel agencies to name a few leveraged on this conductive platform to introduce their destination’s unique selling points, which was the primary attraction for the visitors from around the world.
Especially designed to help industry players meet up with their potential business partners, the Pre-Scheduled Appointment (PSA) programme served as the main highlight for all exhibitors present at BITE. The PSA programme was indeed a powerful and formidable platform that opened the doors to key markets and new business opportunities.
The BITE 2012 has once again proven itself to be one of the leading platforms for business opportunities, as well as fostering relationships with key industry players in the tourism and travel sector not only in the region but worldwide.
