Kimpton Hotels Makes Grand Entrance in India with IHG and Adani Airports

In a groundbreaking move set to redefine airport hospitality, Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) has teamed up with IHG Hotels & Resorts to unveil an impressive collection of premium hotels across five major Indian airports. Scheduled to roll out on May 14, 2026, this agreement marks the largest managed hotel portfolio unveiling in India to date and features nearly 1,500 hotel keys spanning a selection of IHG’s esteemed brands, including the much-anticipated introduction of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in India.

Focus on Gateway Cities and Emerging Tourist Hotspots

The newly formed five-hotel portfolio strategically targets key urban destinations linked to high passenger traffic and burgeoning tourism. One standout project will be a Kimpton hotel located in Jaipur, known as the Pink City, which entices both domestic and international travelers. This hotel will offer an exclusive luxury lifestyle experience, capitalizing on Jaipur’s rich heritage and vibrant culture.

The Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels will be developed within Adani’s mixed-use hospitality projects in Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram. The partnership with IHG also indicates ongoing negotiations for further expansions, hinting at exciting developments across India’s rapidly growing aviation sector.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Takes Center Stage

Kimpton’s entry into the Indian market signifies a pivotal moment in the country’s luxury hospitality landscape. Renowned for its personalized service and design-inspired accommodations, Kimpton aims to provide discerning travelers with unique and local experiences. The Jaipur location will serve as Kimpton’s first hotel in India, tapping into an influx of affluent travelers seeking custom, design-led stays in culturally rich environments.

For those who cherish travel experiences, the arrival of Kimpton means new opportunities for curated experiences that seamlessly blend culture, design, and comfort.

A Vision in Line with India’s Aviation and Tourism Growth

This partnership beautifully complements the expansive growth witnessed in India’s aviation and tourism sectors. As the largest private airport operator in India, AAHL supports millions of annual passengers and provides an excellent framework for luxury and premium accommodations geared for transit, business, and leisure travelers alike.

By stretching across 663 acres in key cities, AAHL is revolutionizing the traditional airport concept into integrated urban ecosystems. These airport city developments will merge various functions—including hospitality, retail, and social spaces—creating travel hubs where passengers can move effortlessly between flights, meetings, and accommodations.

Long-Term Vision Articulated by Leaders

Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Limited, expressed the long-term significance of this alliance, emphasizing their aim to create top-tier destinations that integrate travel and urban experiences, reflecting India’s fast-evolving aviation landscape.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director of South West Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, reinforced the potential for growth in India’s hospitality industry through this partnership. He remarked that the collaboration not only signifies IHG’s commitment to establishing its footprint across gateway cities but also highlights the introduction of Kimpton as an important milestone.

IHG’s Vision for Growth in India

Currently, IHG operates 52 properties in India, with an ambitious pipeline featuring 98 new hotels slated to launch in the next three to five years. Their goal is to expand to over 400 properties within five years, showcasing their confidence in the market’s evolving trends. IHG encompasses a diverse array of brands including Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn, and others, reinforcing their presence across varied segments.

A Transformative Move for India’s Hospitality Infrastructure

The collaboration between AAHL and IHG represents a significant transformation in how airport-led hotels are envisioned in India. By integrating high-quality accommodations within airport city developments, the initiative addresses the growing demands of modern travelers seeking seamless and luxurious experiences.

As these hotels begin to launch, travelers will see airport cities transitioning from mere transit points to exciting leisure destinations in their own right. Whether for business or leisure, visitors to Navi Mumbai, Jaipur, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram can look forward to an elevated travel experience that exemplifies India’s rising standards in hospitality.
