Additionally, Raffaele Breschi’s appointment as General Manager of Dream of the Desert adds strategic significance to this project within Arsenale’s global expansion plans.
Dream of the Desert is not merely a travel service; it represents one of the most ambitious luxury tourism projects underway in Saudi Arabia. The train will operate along the existing northern railway line, covering approximately 1,000 kilometers from Riyadh to Qurayat near the Jordanian border.
Instead of building new rail infrastructure, Arsenale is opting to transform existing railway corridors into luxurious travel experiences. The carefully selected route is designed to highlight the breathtaking desert vistas, remote landscapes, and cultural heritage regions of the kingdom, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism diversification goals as part of Vision 2030.
Designed with exclusivity in mind, the onboard experience will consist of just 33 ultra-luxury cabins, accommodating a maximum of only 66 guests at a time. This limited capacity caters to high-end travelers, positioning Dream of the Desert firmly within the elite luxury tourism segment.
Passengers will enjoy two exquisite dining venues and an exclusive lounge carriage dedicated to providing unparalleled hospitality throughout the journey. The meticulous design of luxury interiors, private accommodations, and curated onboard services are central to the overall philosophy of Dream of the Desert.
In addition to leisure tourism, Dream of the Desert is strategically positioned to serve Saudi Arabia’s growing corporate travel sector. Customized onboard experiences are being developed to cater to corporate clients, including executive retreats, luxury brand activations, and wellness-oriented leadership programs.

The train is currently being constructed in Italy, showcasing the project’s international appeal and European design excellence. Full-scale mock-up carriages have already been created in Riyadh, allowing stakeholders to preview the luxurious cabin and dining layouts.
One of the train’s unique features is its route through the King Salman Reserve, which offers spectacular desert landscapes and ecological diversity. Arsenale is developing a range of off-board experiences directly linked to the rail journey, including luxury desert camps and curated cultural excursions.

In a departure from traditional year-round operations, Dream of the Desert will adopt a seasonal model, functioning primarily from November to March, when desert temperatures are more comfortable.
