The shift to the Boeing 787-9, equipped with first-class cabins, will be effective during the summer season from July 1 to October 24. The A380-800 model, which comfortably seats between 484 to 494 passengers, will see its capacity drastically reduced to accommodate only 226 passengers on the Boeing 787-9—representing a total capacity reduction of approximately 53 percent. Business class capacity will drop by 60 percent, while first class will only see a minor reduction. Despite this aircraft transition, flight departure and arrival times will remain unchanged: Flight EY498 will leave Abu Dhabi at 9:40 PM and arrive in Singapore at 9:40 AM the next day, while the return leg, EY499, will depart Singapore at 9:00 PM and reach Abu Dhabi at 12:20 AM.
Boosting European Services with A380 Redeployment
In a move to enhance its European presence, Etihad is redirecting its A380 aircraft to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), announcing a double daily service complemented by a third frequency operating four times a week.
