Held from May 19 to 21, IMEX Frankfurt 2026 attracted over 3,100 exhibitors from more than 150 countries and welcomed around 4,500 professional buyers from the worldwide events industry. This solidified its position as one of the leading trade platforms for MICE professionals globally.
During the event, Taiwan’s pavilion was highly interactive, facilitating numerous opportunities for connection. A total of 174 pre-arranged business meetings were held, and seven group presentations attracted nearly 100 delegates. Key industry figures—including global event planners, corporate meeting organizers, and incentive travel operators—showed considerable interest in Taiwan, highlighting its appeal as a MICE destination.
Notably, European buyers accounted for the largest segment of engagement, with particular interest from professional conference organizers and travel management companies. Additionally, there was promising interest from long-haul markets in the Americas and the Middle East, indicating Taiwan’s growing reach.
The pavilion’s strategic approach was to present Taiwan as a destination marked by cutting-edge infrastructure, rich cultural experiences, and technologically advanced event solutions. Instead of promoting individual companies, the collaborative format fostered a strong national MICE identity that resonated with international buyers.
A standout feature of the pavilion was the “Taste Taiwan” experiential area. This attraction allowed visitors to indulge in unique culinary offerings such as traditional brown sugar bubble tea, gua bao pork buns, and cocktails inspired by Taiwanese flavors. These food experiences were designed to create memorable connections, effectively translating Taiwan’s cultural identity into a tangible experience for attendees.
In addition to culinary delights, Taiwan showcased its prowess in digital innovation relevant to business events. IPEVO Corp. displayed its AI-driven real-time voice translation systems, facilitating seamless multilingual communication during meetings and presentations. This innovation highlights Taiwan’s role as a pioneer in integrating advanced technology into event environments, enhancing accessibility and cross-border collaboration.
The pavilion featured various smart tourism technologies, including AI-enabled travel planning tools and immersive digital installations that allowed buyers to explore Taiwan’s diverse destinations and event capabilities interactively. These offerings reflect the MICE industry’s ongoing pivot towards technology-enhanced engagement and hybrid event formats.
While at the exhibition, Taiwanese delegates participated in multiple industry seminars addressing key trends shaping the global events landscape. Topics included the role of artificial intelligence in event design, sustainable practices within the industry, and the evolution of hybrid and immersive conferencing formats.
Sustainability was a central theme throughout the event, reflecting the heightened global demand for eco-friendly event destinations. Taiwan’s participation at IMEX Frankfurt demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through initiatives focused on smart infrastructure, greener tourism practices, and efficient event operations.
Taiwan’s showcase at the exhibition also served as a vital networking platform, with several international organizers and corporate representatives expressing interest in hosting future conferences and incentive programs in Taiwan. This positive feedback illustrates the growing confidence in Taiwan’s capability to host world-class events.
The coordinated pavilion approach allowed Taiwan to strengthen its brand identity, providing a unified message to global buyers. By incorporating various government agencies, industry partners, and tourism stakeholders, Taiwan effectively communicated its diverse offerings—ranging from modern convention facilities and strong air connectivity to rich hospitality experiences that cater to both business and leisure travelers.
Taiwan continues to adapt its MICE positioning to align with global trends that increasingly value not just infrastructure but also the capacity for innovation, sustainability practices, and immersive experiences. Moving forward, the country plans to extend its international outreach through targeted marketing, enhanced public-private partnerships, and ongoing investment in smart tourism and event technology.
With the global MICE landscape becoming more competitive, Taiwan’s multifaceted approach aims to integrate cultural depth, innovation, and sustainability, aspiring to carve out a distinctive presence in the international business events arena.
