Flynas Expands Travel Options with New Direct Flights from Riyadh to Aleppo

Saudi Arabia is enhancing its presence in the global travel market in partnership with Italy, the UAE, Germany, and various other international destinations. This comes as Flynas Airline announces the launch of new direct Riyadh–Aleppo flights starting from 1 August 2026. The twice-weekly service aims to improve connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Syria, catering to family and business travel while expanding Flynas’ regional network. This development is part of the airline’s broader international strategy, which also includes new routes to Rome, Munich, and Budapest.

Set to begin operations in just a few months, Flynas will introduce direct flights from Riyadh to Aleppo on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This new route will mark Aleppo as the second destination in Syria for Flynas, following its service to Damascus, and it addresses the growing need for efficient travel between the two countries for families, businesses, and increased regional connectivity.

Significantly, the new service will not only connect Riyadh with Aleppo but also signifies the resurgence of Gulf airlines returning to Aleppo. Alongside Flynas, Flydubai, a UAE-based airline, is preparing to reinstate daily operations to the Syrian city following a hiatus of fourteen years.

Details of the New Riyadh–Aleppo Flights

The Flynas-operated route will take approximately two and a half hours each way, with the outbound flight departing King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 12:00 PM and arriving at Aleppo International Airport by 2:30 PM. The return journey will see passengers leaving Aleppo at 3:30 PM, landing back in Riyadh at 6:10 PM. This efficient schedule provides travelers with a streamlined travel option between the Saudi capital and northern Syria, eliminating the need for extended journeys via Damascus.

Affordable Introductory Ticket Prices

In an enticing offer for early travelers, Flynas has introduced introductory one-way fares starting from SAR1,110 (around US$296) for flights from Riyadh to Aleppo. For the return journey from Aleppo to Riyadh, prices begin at SAR823 (approximately US$219). These introductory rates may vary based on travel dates, seat availability, and any additional services chosen, providing a glimpse into the pricing strategy for the newly established route.

Aleppo: A New Destination in Flynas’ Portfolio

Following the initiation of services to Aleppo, Flynas solidifies its commitment to connecting key cities in Syria, building on its recent resumption of flights to Damascus in June 2025. Currently, Flynas operates 24 weekly flights to Damascus, comprising 14 weekly services from Riyadh, seven from Jeddah, and three from Dammam. The addition of Aleppo significantly enhances Flynas’ offering, improving access to northern Syria and benefitting those in the Saudi Arabian community looking to reconnect with family and friends.

Long-Term Vision with a Joint-Venture Airline in Syria

Looking ahead, Flynas has expressed interest in establishing a more permanent presence in Syria’s aviation market after signing an agreement in early 2026 to create a joint-venture airline in Syria. Expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026, this new airline aims to bolster domestic and regional air travel, facilitating better connections between Syrian cities while fostering essential trade links with neighboring countries.

Flynas’ International Expansion Continues

The launch of the Aleppo service is part of Flynas’ broader strategy to expand its international network. Recent additions to their summer 2026 schedule include flights to Rome, Munich, and Budapest, with the airline now operating seasonal flights to over 25 destinations across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

  • Italy: Strengthening its footprint in southern Europe with flights to Rome to cater to leisure seekers and cultural travelers.
  • Germany: Expanding business and tourism opportunities with new connections to Munich.
  • Hungary: Adding Budapest as another favorable destination for Saudi travelers.
  • Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah continue to be key hubs for the airline’s international growth.
  • Syria: The introduction of services to Aleppo complements the existing London Damascus flights.

This strategic expansion caters to a diverse range of travelers, from vacationers and business professionals to families and religious pilgrims.

Flydubai’s Return to Aleppo

In addition to Flynas’ upcoming service, Flydubai is set to resume flights to Aleppo with a daily connection commencing on 20 July 2026, just shortly before Flynas starts its operations. This return marks the reinstatement of Aleppo’s direct access to two major Gulf aviation markets, enhancing its aviation landscape.

The combined efforts of Flynas and Flydubai signal a renewed airline confidence in the revitalization of Aleppo’s international travel opportunities. As Saudi Arabia continues to broaden its web of connectivity, these new flights are paving the way for stronger cultural and economic ties between the countries.

A Bright Future for Aleppo’s Tourism and Economy

Aleppo is not only one of Syria’s oldest cities but also a significant cultural hub. Improving air access through these new routes will likely bolster tourism, hospitality, trade, and family connections. The reinstatement of direct flights from Riyadh and Dubai can attract more visitors, investors, and expatriated Syrians looking to reconnect with their roots.

With Flynas introducing flights on 1 August 2026 and Flydubai set to follow on 20 July 2026, Aleppo is on the brink of a new era in regional aviation. These flights aspire to reforge vital links with the Gulf markets, opening doors for growth in Syria’s transport and tourism industries.
