Luxury hospitality is receiving a remarkable spotlight in Japan as the Four Seasons Hotel Osaka announces an extraordinary gastronomic program in honor of its second anniversary. From August 20 to August 31, 2026, diners can look forward to a series of exclusive culinary experiences that fuse Italian culinary traditions with the freshest seasonal Japanese ingredients and the exceptional craftsmanship typical of the Four Seasons brand.
Leading this anniversary celebration will be Executive Chef Paolo Pelosi, joined by esteemed colleagues Executive Chef Andrea Accordi and Executive Pastry Chef Andrea Bonaffini from the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok along the Chao Phraya River. This collaboration will showcase a contemporary twist on Italian cuisine, featuring a unique Chef’s Table, an exquisite afternoon tea, and a specially crafted pastry collection, all highlighting the best of both Japanese and Italian flavors.

The partnership rekindles a long-standing camaraderie between Chef Pelosi and Chef Accordi that traces back over two decades to Florence, where Chef Accordi mentored Chef Pelosi. Together, they plan to weave their shared Italian roots with Osaka’s vibrant seasonal produce, creating dishes that celebrate both Italy’s culinary legacy and Japan’s rich gastronomic heritage.
The pinnacle of this culinary event will be an exclusive nine-course Chef’s Table, set to take place from August 20 to 23, 2026, at the Sky Salon on the hotel’s 37th floor. Guests will be treated to stunning panoramic views of Osaka while experiencing a thoughtfully curated dining format designed for just 14 guests each evening. Reservations will be available for a single seating at 7 pm, with the culinary journey priced at JPY 25,000 per person.
The menu will blend the distinct culinary expressions of both Chefs Pelosi and Accordi. Each dish will creatively reinterpret classic Italian recipes utilizing seasonal Japanese ingredients and modern culinary techniques. An unforgettable conclusion to this gastronomic journey will feature a dessert inspired by the chefs’ formative culinary collaboration in Florence over two decades ago.
Highlights from the menu will include a reimagined Tonno Tonnato, where Chef Accordi’s twist on the Piedmont classic Vitello Tonnato replaces veal with premium Japanese tuna. This intricate dish will showcase dry-aged akami tuna, finely chopped into tartare, drizzled with a unique white miso vinaigrette, and enveloped in a tonnato sauce made from slow-cooked tuna belly, capers, and anchovies, elevated with Sicilian bergamot, Kristal caviar, wild fennel, and yuzu.
Another memorable offering will be Chef Pelosi’s foie gras terrine, expertly paired with figs from Aoki Farm, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and aromatic sansho pepper, culminating in the chef’s reinterpretation of Tentazione di Verdure, a dessert that beautifully encapsulates their shared culinary journey.
From August 20 to 31, guests can also indulge in a delightful afternoon tea at Jardin, where the sweet and savory selections will fuse the Italian pastry artistry of Chef Bonaffini with Chef Pelosi’s seasonal Japanese creations. Available daily from noon until 7 pm, with the last guests seated by 5 pm, the afternoon tea will come at a price of JPY 12,000 per person, featuring unlimited selections of fine teas and gourmet coffee.
The sweet offerings will prominently feature Maritozzi, the romantic Roman cream-filled buns, reimagined without losing their essence. Sweetened with Madagascar vanilla and white chocolate, they will be elevated further with seasonal fruits such as Japanese melon, peach, or fig.
Desserts will also include 100% Peca, a light pecan mousse accompanied by praline for a satisfying crunch; and Cioccolate, a decadent combination of dark and milk chocolate, cacao nibs, and rich almond sponge cake. The savory offerings like a sumptuous lobster roll sandwich complemented by musk melon and bisque mayonnaise, along with chicken rillette paired with a summer corn tart, will further enhance the Italian-Japanese fusion experience.
For those with a sweet tooth, a limited pastry collection will debut at Farine, the artisanal bakery within the Four Seasons Hotel Osaka, running from August 20 to 31. This unique selection will allow guests to savor the collaboration outside the formal dining environment, showcasing the marriage of Italian pastry traditions with Japanese ingredients like summer melon, matcha, and buckwheat.
Guests can also enjoy a live Maritozzi bar, where these delicate buns will be freshly filled with vanilla cream before seasonal fruits are added. Priced at JPY 850 each, other unique pastries will be available for JPY 1,500, all crafted with meticulous attention to texture, presentation, and seasonal relevance.
Chef Bonaffini’s contribution to this pastry collaboration extends the celebration beyond formal settings, emphasizing another layer of Italian culinary heritage intertwined with local flavors from Japan.
The anniversary festivities at Four Seasons Hotel Osaka will not only celebrate two years of dedicated service but also highlight the transformative power of culinary connections and creativity. This remarkable program emphasizes mentorship and professional bonds among three distinguished chefs while embracing culinary wisdom from Bangkok, blending both savory and pastry experiences.
Through this exciting lineup of events—featuring a Chef’s Table, afternoon tea, and unique pastries—guests will have the opportunity to experience a harmonious exchange of cultures and flavors, marking the second anniversary as a memorable intersection of Italian, Japanese, and Bangkok culinary identities.
