Travelers in South Florida are in for an exciting update, as JetBlue significantly amplifies its operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. With a substantial network enhancement, the airline aims to connect more passengers to various destinations across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Adding to its extensive flight network, JetBlue has officially introduced eight new nonstop routes departing from Fort Lauderdale. This expansion elevates the airline’s operational footprint at the airport to over 55 destinations, complemented by more than 125 daily departures — a clear indication of JetBlue’s commitment to bolster its presence during the busy winter season.

As winter approaches, JetBlue anticipates running about 150 daily flights from Fort Lauderdale, achieving a record operational level at this key airport.
The notable new nonstop routes include service to Baltimore, Charlotte, Cleveland, Nashville, Detroit, Houston, Chicago, and Ponce in Puerto Rico. This expansion not only provides enhanced access to major U.S. cities but also offers more convenient travel options for jetsetters from South Florida.
Looking ahead, additional routes are slated for launch later in 2026, including destinations such as Indianapolis, Columbus, San Diego, as well as international flights to Barranquilla and Cali in Colombia and Caracas in Venezuela. These new connections will elevate Fort Lauderdale’s status as a crucial gateway for both domestic and global travel.
The expansion of routes is set against a backdrop of remarkable growth for JetBlue at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, with the airline increasing its presence by over 75 percent in daily departures compared to the previous year. Since December, JetBlue has initiated service to an impressive 24 new nonstop destinations, with plans for six more routes scheduled to commence in late 2026.
With a focus on improving connectivity for local travelers, this growing network also supports incoming passengers making connections through Fort Lauderdale to various destinations across North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The redesigned schedule aims to provide increased access to essential business and leisure markets, allowing travelers to avoid the hassle of multiple connections while maximizing their travel opportunities from South Florida.
Among the latest additions are several frequent routes tailored to meet high passenger demand.
For instance, flights between Fort Lauderdale and Baltimore will run three times daily, with Charlotte also receiving three daily departures. Similarly, Nashville and Houston will enjoy three daily flights each, reinforcing vital links to prominent business and leisure areas.
In addition, Detroit will feature two daily flights, while Chicago will also offer two daily services. Cleveland and Ponce will now have daily nonstop flights, extending JetBlue’s reach in both the domestic and Caribbean market.
Looking forward, the next growth phase for JetBlue will introduce daily services to Indianapolis and Columbus in November, alongside new routes that will kick off on November 19 to San Diego. The airline’s international expansion will also see daily flights to Barranquilla starting October 1 and Cali on October 15, with plans for a route to Caracas pending government approval.
These expansions will provide travelers with even more options for traveling between South Florida and critical markets in Colombia and Venezuela.
In response to growing demand for enhanced air travel, JetBlue is also expanding its premium services from Fort Lauderdale through its Mint service.
The airline plans to introduce daily Mint flights between Fort Lauderdale and San Diego on November 19, providing travelers with the only lie-flat seating option connecting the two cities — a truly premium experience for those flying longer distances.
Additionally, travelers can look forward to an increase in Mint flights from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles and San Francisco during the upcoming winter season, catering to those seeking elevated comfort and service.
JetBlue’s commitment to Fort Lauderdale goes beyond enhancing travel operations. The airline actively supports local communities through various educational and development initiatives.
Recently, the JetBlue Foundation awarded $130,000 in grants in 2026 to local organizations that focus on fostering education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, along with programs geared toward youth development and career prospects.
These efforts are geared toward opening up more educational pathways and encouraging young individuals to consider careers in aviation and related sectors, merging network expansion with community outreach to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals in South Florida.
