Its influence is evident in shaping SAF policy across Asia, facilitating SAF procurement, and advocating for sustainable aviation certificates. Recognition of its efforts, such as the EuroCham Sustainability Award in 2025 and its participation at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, underscores its growing credibility on the global stage.

High-Stakes Year Ahead with Three Major Summits

The Da Nang summit kicks off a series of critical engagements for ASAFA, with two more major events planned—one in Thailand in June and another in Malaysia in October 2026. This back-to-back summit schedule highlights the urgency with which stakeholders in Southeast Asia are tackling the challenge of expanding alternative aviation fuels.

In addition to the summits, ASAFA has outlined an ambitious agenda, including the release of three significant reports throughout the year. A newly established Market Structures Committee will focus on harmonizing regional SAF standards, a vital step toward cohesive market operations in the Asia-Pacific. Furthermore, the association will introduce its inaugural International SAF Professional Training Academy in September 2026, aiming to bridge the technical and talent gaps that hinder the scaling of SAF initiatives across the region.
