The InterContinental brand, known for its rich legacy as the first global luxury hotel hotel brand, is committed to providing exceptional service and cultural immersion. With over 240 properties in operation around the globe and another 104 in the pipeline, IHG® Hotels & Resorts continues to thrive by tapping into emerging global hotspots.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director of South West Asia for IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with Makson India Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. for the launch of InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol. India is a growing market for luxury hospitality, driven by an increasing appetite for unique leisure experiences and destination celebrations. This partnership will bolster IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the region, establishing us as the preferred partner for high-end hospitality in India.”
He described Achrol as a developing jewel near Jaipur, which blends heritage charm, natural beauty, and easy accessibility. With the introduction of the InterContinental Resort, Jain hopes to attract leisure visitors and large events alike, establishing a premier venue for social gatherings.
Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan and a key stop on India’s famed Golden Triangle itinerary, is witnessing a surge in tourist numbers thanks to its vibrant culture and historical landmarks, including the iconic Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, and the historic Walled City. Moreover, the city has earned a reputation as a top destination for luxury weddings and exclusive events, with the demand for high-end venues consistently outpacing supply.
Rajan Jhiriwal, Director of Makson India Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., remarked, “Partnering with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce the prestigious InterContinental brand to Achrol marks a significant milestone in our strategy of creating standout hospitality assets that honor local culture while meeting global standards.”
Adding to this sentiment, Robin Jhiriwal, another Director at Makson, shared, “Our goal is to develop hospitality gems that provide lasting value for guests and the community alike. With InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol, we are determined to elevate the luxury hospitality landscape in this region, ensuring that Rajasthan’s timeless appeal is showcased through thoughtful design, authentic experiences, and exemplary service.”
The InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol will boast a diverse selection of dining experiences across four venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty eatery, a lobby lounge, and a poolside bar. For event planning, the resort will feature expansive facilities, including a ballroom, making it a preferred choice for weddings and special occasions. Guest amenities will encompass a club lounge, wellness spa, fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, shopping spaces, and ample parking.
This strategic partnership is part of IHG’s broader expansion efforts in India, with a laser focus on luxury and lifestyle segments as well as becoming a prominent player in leisure markets across the country. Presently, IHG manages 52 properties in India across six distinct brands—ranging from luxury and lifestyle options like Six Senses and InterContinental to more accessible offerings such as Crowne Plaza, voco™ Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. Each brand is tailored to satisfy diverse traveler needs, whether for upscale indulgences or convenient stays.
As IHG continues to broaden its footprint in India, it has plans for a robust pipeline of 98 additional hotels under development, catering to a wide variety of guests, including luxury travelers, family vacationers, and business professionals. The ambitious goal is to triple the company’s presence in India, ultimately targeting over 400 hotels in operation and construction in the next five years. This calculated growth strategy solidifies IHG’s long-term commitment to India, promising an array of world-class and diversified lodging options across key strategic locations nationwide.
