Recognizing the challenge posed by numerous inquiries flooding in outside regular hours—often from guests seeking last-minute table reservations—IDG has taken proactive measures to ensure opportunities aren’t lost.

By activating Revmo’s omnipresent digital concierge at BOA Austin and other locations like BOA West Hollywood and Sushi Roku Palo Alto, IDG has established a robust solution to handle calls around the clock. This intelligent system not only engages with callers using natural language but also facilitates seamless bookings, thereby replacing the previous system where many calls went to voicemail without a response.

Impressive Outcomes from the Initial Four Months

Before the implementation of Revmo, data revealed that almost 43 percent of call traffic to BOA Steakhouse occurred outside of business hours, resulting in missed opportunities. In just the first four months post-rollout, Revmo managed to intercept over 5,100 of these missed after-hours inquiries. Shockingly, about 10% of these interactions converted into actual reservations, securing 479 tables that would have otherwise slipped through the cracks. Overall, the virtual agent successfully booked a total of 1,208 reservations, processed 643 modifications, and managed more than 12,330 calls during this evaluation period, showcasing a 22% increase in booking volume as the system gained insights from real-world interactions.

Alleviating Front Desk Strain During Service Hours

The advantages extend beyond just off-hours coverage. During peak service times, Revmo takes on a substantial proportion of incoming calls, allowing hosts to focus on providing an exceptional experience for guests already on-site. Reports indicate that at various BOA locations, AI has effectively handled between 58% and 66% of calls without the need for human intervention. This shift is particularly crucial for a dining group that prides itself on personalized hospitality, especially given the frequent presence of celebrity clientele.

Seamless Integration with SevenRooms and Guest Insights

Revmo is not just another voice response system; it integrates seamlessly with existing restaurant management tools like SevenRooms, enhancing its functionality significantly. This allows the virtual agent to perform a myriad of tasks typically managed by human hosts, including creating new bookings, modifying existing reservations, and documenting special requests. Since Revmo is equipped with access to guest profiles and caller ID, it recognizes VIP guests and can even suggest alternatives at sister properties if a particular location is fully booked, optimizing occupancy across IDG’s portfolio.

Expanding Multichannel and Multilingual Assistance

The initial deployment at a handful of locations is just the beginning. IDG plans to expand Revmo’s services to additional establishments, including one in Las Vegas, catering to the influx of visitors influenced by local events and conventions. Revmo’s capabilities extend beyond voice calls, supporting email, web chat, and text messaging, accommodating guests who prefer alternative communication methods. With a focus on inclusivity, the platform also supports numerous languages, including a newly launched Spanish-language version at BOA Austin, enhancing accessibility for the local community and visiting guests.
