In a groundbreaking venture for health and wellness, Therme Group has officially started the construction of Therme Singapore, a one-of-a-kind mega wellness city located at Marina South. Slated for completion in 2030, this transformative facility spans over 720,000 square feet, equivalent to more than nine football fields, and promises to redefine urban wellbeing in Asia.
The launch event was presided over by Grace Fu, Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, highlighting the significance of this project in the city-state’s vision for sustainable urban development. Therme Singapore is poised to usher in a new era of integrated social infrastructure, combining wellness, leisure, and community living under one roof.

The Therme Singapore Experience
The upcoming facility is being crafted as an inclusive oasis for wellness, combining natural beauty with health-focused activities. Designed to cater to a diverse array of visitors—from families with children to professionals seeking restorative experiences—the project aims to provide a myriad of immersive activities all within an integrated environment.
Occupying seven levels with an additional basement, the complex will feature over 20 pools and water areas, complemented by more than 70 wellness and treatment rooms. This unique concept blends leisure-driven water attractions with therapeutic spaces to ensure that entertainment and relaxation coexist seamlessly.
A Multi-Zone Wellness Ecosystem
The visitor experience at Therme Singapore will be meticulously organized into three distinct zones, each tailored to different aspects of wellbeing.
1. The Play Zone: Geared toward energy and family bonding, this zone will showcase an expansive variety of water attractions designed for active enjoyment. This includes children’s pools, splash areas, and an extensive network of 18 water slides traversing more than 1.8 kilometers, establishing one of the largest indoor-outdoor aquatic systems in Asia.
2. The Relax Zone: This area offers a serene ambiance focused on recovery and comfort. Visitors can enjoy thermal pools, mineral-rich soaking areas, and tranquil water spaces aimed at providing a peaceful retreat. Amenities like hydromassage beds and infrared therapy stations will be available to help guests unwind and rejuvenate.
3. The Restore Zone: Dedicated to in-depth therapeutic practices, this section features saunas, steam rooms, and specialized treatment areas, offering guests an environment for comprehensive wellness experiences specifically focused on rejuvenation.
Additionally, guests will have access to over 86,000 square feet of dining spaces designed to enrich the wellness journey, featuring options for healthy cuisine and social gathering while providing picturesque coastal views.
Emphasis on Nature and Ecology
Therme Singapore prioritizes ecological design and natural integration. The project will boast extensive landscaped areas inside and outside the facility, featuring over 200,000 plants from more than 200 species. The flora, including tropical orchids and native Southeast Asian plants, will enhance the regional ecological identity while promoting visual and sensory enrichment.
Beyond the wellness center, Therme Singapore will also introduce a new coastal public park, spanning nearly four hectares, providing public access to the waterfront and connecting the facility with Marina Barrage. This green space will serve as a recreational area while boosting the area’s ecological significance.
A Focus on Sustainability
Developed in collaboration with Kajima Overseas Asia, the architectural design led by DP Architects, Therme Singapore will incorporate sustainable practices from the ground up. Features will include energy-efficient systems designed to lower operational consumption, photovoltaic panels for renewable energy, and advanced water management systems aimed at reducing chemical demand.
Digital technology will enhance the visitor experience through smart solutions, including waterproof RFID wristbands for seamless access and payment options. A state-of-the-art robotic locker system will further streamline visitor convenience, ensuring that relaxation takes priority over logistics.
Empowering Local Employment and Training
Therme Singapore is anticipated to create around 400 direct jobs, along with additional employment opportunities in related industries such as engineering and hospitality. The facility will focus on equipping future professionals with essential skills by partnering with institutions like the Institute of Technical Education and Republic Polytechnic, creating pathways for students in the wellness sector.
