Hyderabad-Jaipur Weekly Express: A Gateway for Tourists

The Hyderabad-Jaipur Weekly Express (Train No. 17079) will mark the first of these new services, initiating operations on 24 July 2026. Passengers can look forward to weekly departures from Hyderabad every Friday at 7:50 PM, traveling through several key locations including Secunderabad, Kamareddi, Nizamabad, Nanded, Akola, Bhopal, Ujjain, Ratlam, and Ajmer before reaching its final destination in Jaipur.

The train will return from Jaipur to Hyderabad as the Jaipur-Hyderabad Weekly Express (Train No. 17080) starting 26 July, ensuring that weekend explorers have reliable travel options to enjoy Rajasthan’s rich culture, stunning landscapes, and historical sites.

Cherlapalli-Agartala Weekly Express: Linking South with the Northeast

An equally significant addition is the Cherlapalli-Agartala Weekly Express (Train No. 17031), commencing service on 27 July 2026. This train will depart from Charlapalli every Monday at 4:20 PM, connecting Telangana with major cities in the Northeast. The return journey will see Train No. 17032 set off from Agartala every Friday at 5:30 AM.

This route is vital for those wishing to explore the diverse northeastern states. It connects through important junctions in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Assam, stopping at cities such as Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Bhubaneswar, Kharagpur, and Guwahati before reaching Tripura’s capital.

Kacheguda-Sri Ganganagar Weekly Express: Strengthening North-West Links

The third express train to be regularised is the Kacheguda-Sri Ganganagar Weekly Express (Train No. 17061). Starting on 25 July 2026, this service will leave Kacheguda every Saturday at 10 PM, with the return journey from Sri Ganganagar set for 28 July each Tuesday at 6:55 AM.

This route provides crucial connectivity between southern India and various destinations within Rajasthan, making it an excellent choice for those interested in leisure trips focusing on heritage sites and regional traditions.

The Impact of Regularisation on Passenger Experience

Transitioning special trains to regular express services represents a significant enhancement for passenger experience. With fixed departure times, predictable seating availability, and enhanced connectivity between regions, these services cater to the needs of travellers planning long-distance journeys more effectively.

For tourism and business alike, the regularised schedules facilitate better planning with assurance regarding availability and timing, thus bolstering train travel’s role in India’s transportation landscape.

A Vision for Improved Rail Connectivity

The Indian government, as part of its broader transport strategy, is focused on expanding and refining rail networks to accommodate evolving passenger demands. This shift to regularised services aligns with objectives for inclusive travel and economic integration across states.

Boosting Tourism and Local Economies

The introduction of regular express trains is poised to significantly bolster tourism, particularly during high-traffic seasons, cultural festivals, and school breaks. Regions like Rajasthan and the Northeast can anticipate increased visitor influx as they become more accessible to metropolitan populations.

Moreover, this enhanced connectivity is expected to stimulate local economies by supporting hotels, restaurants, local transport services, and area attractions. The predictability of train schedules will allow tourism operators and travel planners to create comprehensive travel packages, enriching the travel experience across these vibrant regions.
