For example, those flying to the United Kingdom should obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). The Czech eDoklady app is a helpful tool for digital identification domestically, but physical ID documents—such as a national identity card or passport—are still required for international travel. European passport holders can take advantage of dedicated lanes at passport control to avoid long waiting times.
Self-service kiosks have become increasingly popular at Prague Airport, with 31 kiosks spread across both terminals. These allow passengers to skip the traditional check-in desks, particularly advantageous during busy travel times. Moreover, the airport offers 32 self-service baggage drop-off desks, supported by 18 airlines. Last year alone, over half a million pieces of luggage were efficiently managed through these self-service options, and this number is projected to increase as more airlines integrate this technology.

For those departing from Terminal 2, enhanced security measures have been put into place, including cutting-edge CT scanner technology. This advancement allows liquids and electronic devices to remain in carry-on luggage during inspections. Standard guidelines still permit liquids in containers of 100 milliliters within a single one-liter bag, while Terminal 2 allows an additional container of up to two liters, greatly improving convenience for passengers. Conversely, Terminal 1, which is pending upgrades, continues to require the separate presentation of electronics and liquids due to its current security layout.
Travelers are also given advice regarding the correct handling of electronics. Devices such as laptops, tablets, and large power banks must be carried in hand luggage and protected against accidental activation. Smaller electronics can be packed in checked luggage if powered off. However, battery restrictions are strictly enforced, with regulations generally capping devices at 100 Wh to align with aviation safety standards.
In a bid to improve the overall travel experience, Prague Airport has expanded its facilities. Terminal 2 now features a relaxation zone capable of accommodating up to 100 guests equipped with charging stations and Wi-Fi. Families can benefit from dedicated play areas, changing rooms, and kitchenettes in both terminals, allowing parents to prepare or heat baby food while their children enjoy age-appropriate activities.
Dining options have been broadened in collaboration with airport tenants. A total of 17 restaurants, bistros, and snack bars will operate 24/7 throughout the summer season. Among these is the Runway Restaurant, offering patrons a view of aircraft operations while indulging in both local and international dishes. Guests can dine in public areas or at select locations in Terminal 1.
