The Philippines introduces more than three million global tourists

The Philippines has introduced more than three million global tourists, said the Department of Tourism (DOT).


As per info revealed by DOT, tourist influxes from January 1 to July 19 this year surged to a total of 3,000,079 tourists and approximately P212,467,522,100.14 in tourism income.


This marks a 502.02% surge in profits compared to P35,292,495,457.14 last year.


Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said that they are happy to say that in approximately seven
months, they have by now attained the mark of 3 million worldwide tourist entrances, exhibiting sustained vigorous retrieval and the improvements of the Marcos administration in the direction of the renaissance of Philippine tourism.


The Philippines has witnessed 2,740,802 overseas tourist admissions and 259,277 overseas Filipino
tourists.


The DOT said that the highest number of overseas travelers came from South Korea with 741,658
tourists, United States with 550,569, Australia with 146,062, Japan with 143,227 and Canada with 132,018
tourists.


Frasco said that tourism delivers work opportunities and means of support to lots of Filipinos. She said that they are appreciative for the reintroduced interest internationally regarding the Philippines, which offers a horde of motives to travel in their islands. Frasco said that they also wish to show gratitude to their fellow Filipinos who keep traveling locally, backing their local communities and families who comprise a part of the tourism value chain.
