Turkish Airlines Enhances Canadian Flight Options with New Routes and Increased Frequencies for Summer 2026

Travelers eager for exciting transatlantic adventures will soon have more options, as Turkish Airlines announces its expansion in the Canadian travel market. Beginning summer 2026, the airline will introduce new flights connecting Istanbul to Vancouver, as well as increase its service frequency from Istanbul to Montreal. This initiative is designed to cater to the growing demand for travel among both business professionals and leisure tourists. With this expansion, Turkish Airlines aims to enhance the overall travel experience while establishing robust connections through its main hub in Istanbul.

Known for its comprehensive global network, Turkish Airlines has been consolidating its presence in North America, particularly in Canada—a country with a strong Turkish diaspora and increasing tourism flows. This latest development illustrates the airline’s ambition to capitalize on rising interest in transatlantic travel while providing greater flexibility for Canadian passengers to explore international destinations.

Increased Flights to Montreal

Starting July 7, 2026, Turkish Airlines will elevate its weekly flights from Istanbul to Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) from three to four. This popular route caters to both business and leisure travelers, allowing for increased options and convenience. Here’s the updated flight schedule for those interested in planning a dream trip to Turkey or beyond:

  • TK035: Departs Istanbul (IST) 15:05, arrives in Montreal (YUL) 18:10, operating every day except Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
  • TK036: Departs Montreal (YUL) 20:05, arrives in Istanbul (IST) 12:25+1, operating on the same days as above.

These additional flights will be serviced by the Airbus A350-900, which is designed specifically for long-haul flights. Travelers can expect a comfortable journey featuring lie-flat seats in Business Class, spacious Economy Class configurations, and a host of amenities tailored to enhance the flying experience.

Montreal serves as a strategic hub on the eastern coast of Canada, allowing seamless connections for travelers from Eastern Canada and the northeastern United States heading to Istanbul and beyond. With the increase in flight frequency, Turkish Airlines positions itself well to capture the growing demand for travel to and from Türkiye, especially during the bustling summer months.

New Flights to Vancouver

On the west coast, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will also see a significant addition of service. Specifically, Turkish Airlines plans to offer four extra round-trip flights between Istanbul and Vancouver throughout June 2026, a strategic move to accommodate the influx of summer travelers. The additional Vancouver flights are scheduled as follows:

  • Outbound Flights from Istanbul to Vancouver:
    • TK4905: June 10, departs IST 16:50 – arrives YVR 19:10
    • TK4905: June 12, departs IST 16:40 – arrives YVR 19:00
    • TK4905: June 14, departs IST 16:40 – arrives YVR 18:55
    • TK4905: June 15, departs IST 17:30 – arrives YVR 19:50
  • Return Flights from Vancouver to Istanbul:
    • TK4906: June 10, departs YVR 21:05 – arrives IST 19:05+1
    • TK4906: June 12, departs YVR 20:55 – arrives IST 18:55+1

    • TK4906: June 15, departs YVR 21:45 – arrives IST 19:45+1

These flights cater not only to Canadian residents but also to international travelers connecting through Istanbul. Vancouver is a key gateway for those traveling from western Canada and the Pacific Northwest, making it essential for Turkish Airlines’ transatlantic operation.

Enhancing Passenger Experience

By utilizing its modern fleet, including the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for the Vancouver routes, Turkish Airlines emphasizes its commitment to offering a comfortable journey. These aircraft are noted for their fuel efficiency and passenger comfort, ensuring a pleasant travel experience. Features such as rejuvenated cabin pressurization, quieter environments, and spacious seating contribute to overall passenger satisfaction. Business Class travelers benefit from lie-flat seats and premium services, while Economy Class passengers enjoy well-designed seating and personal entertainment systems.

A Bright Outlook for Canadian Travel

The expansion of Turkish Airlines in Canada underscores the airline’s strategic vision to fortify its transatlantic operations. As travel demand rebounds, especially for summer 2026, this growth provides more flexibility and enhanced connectivity between Istanbul and major Canadian cities. It not only meets the demands of leisure and business travelers but also encourages tourism, fostering cultural exchanges between Türkiye and Canada.

This pioneering step sets the stage for continued growth, making it clear that Turkish Airlines recognizes the value of Canada as a pivotal market. With efforts to optimize routes, advance service quality, and maintain operational efficiency, the airline is expected to thrive in meeting the increasing expectations of travelers seeking enriching international experiences.
