What began as a temporary solution has evolved into a long-term strategy, given the route’s impressive economic performance. As a result, the plan to reintroduce the Boeing 777-300ER for these flights has been scrapped in favor of extending the A380’s operations.
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines is also reorienting its European operations. While the Australian market will benefit from the A380’s extended presence, Frankfurt is set to lose its superjumbo services during the 22-week winter season. Instead, the four-class Boeing 777-300ER will fill the gap, with plans for an increased flight frequency to Frankfurt reaching up to 20 trips weekly during peak times.
