In a significant disruption to domestic travel, 54 flights were cancelled across six of Canada’s major airports, including Edmonton (CYEG), Vancouver (CYVR), Calgary (CYYC), Toronto Pearson (CYYZ), Toronto City Centre (CYTZ), and Ottawa (CYOW). Passengers faced added confusion as this included 30 cancellations for arrivals and 24 for departures, affecting both regional flights and international gateways.

Leading the disruptions was Edmonton International Airport, where 15 flights were cancelled. This was closely followed by Vancouver International Airport with 13 cancellations and Calgary International Airport, which saw 10 cancellations. Toronto Pearson reported a further nine cancellations, while Ottawa and Toronto City Centre saw five and two, respectively. The affected routes primarily encompassed flights connecting major hubs, including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto. Some of the disruptions also extended to destinations like Newark, New Orleans, Punta Cana, and Minneapolis–St. Paul.

Major airlines affected by these cancellations included WestJet, Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, Jazz Aviation, Porter Airlines, and Delta Air Lines. Notably, WestJet bore the brunt, recording the highest number of affected flights, followed closely by Air Canada, demonstrating the scale of operational disruptions plaguing Canada’s domestic aviation landscape.
