In tourism campaign, Joey Salceda helps Christina Frasco

On Tuesday, Albay Representative, Joey Salceda, gave assistance to Christina Frasco, Tourism Secretary, in the middle of the controversy regarding campaign with the title – Love the Philippines.


Salceda, who summoned the Department of Tourism for the exclusion of the Mayon volcano in Albay in the tourism video, stated that he will not call for the resignation of Frasco.


Salceda said in a report that he asked her to remove the consultant. She did. He asked her to get her errors right and examine within. She did. He asked her to be more comprehensive when it comes to featured destinations. She did.


He said that he asking everybody to assist her. He would like to call the joint intellect, power, and innovativeness of the brightest minds in promotion to assist the DOT. Albay will help her. As former governor of Albay, he offers her with his personal experience.


As Albay governor, Salceda stated that during his tenure, international tourist arrivals at the province perked up by 4,700%. Also, he stated that before the pandemic hit the world, per resident Albay had 1.32 tourists. It is quite higher than the 0.57 per resident all over the country.

DDB Philippines, the advertising firm which was behind this new campaign, has said sorry regarding the incident.
