Sandiaga Uno, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Indonesia, is making special strategies to build up tourism’s megalithic sites in Indonesia, which he thinks to have tremendous possibility to draw tourists.

He observed on Monday that these megalithic sites in Indonesia are the cultural heritage of the country that has huge possibility. He also stated that he has seen in many places that these sites can become cultural heritage tourist attractions quite easily. Megalithic sites with relics have high value historically.

Uno observed that many locations like the megalithic village located in Flores, Pokekea at the Lore Lindu National Park which is situated in Central Sulawesi, and Gunung Padang in Cianjur, will turn into a high-potential megalithic sites besides megalithic tombs.

He stated that one of the way to expand those megalithic sites is with the help of storynomics tourism that gives importance to creative content, narratives, and living culture by making use of the strength of culture as the prime characteristic of a tourist hotspot.

He explained that their strategy is wrapping up these site resources with a story, or the storynomics that is expanded from one place to another and have their own discrete characteristics, as a result of which they can direct the placement of these products of cultural tourism to the right objective market.

He also highlighted that the tour packaging of these megalithic tourism sites must be fortified.
