Türkiye hopes to see a major boom in health tourism

Türkiye has witnessed a huge increase in the numbers related to medical tourists as the country perks up initiations to improve health tourism sector.

The number of visitors to Türkiye in the initial three months of this year, in terms of health and medical reasons have risen by almost 37.5 percent compared to the same time last year, as per the head of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, Firuz Baglikaya, in a recent interview with the Anadolu Agency.


Baglikaya mentioned that in 2023, they hope to welcome over 1.8 million medical tourists who would mean almost 30 percent increase from the year before.


Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President, on some recent occasions promised to develop his country into a world center when it comes to healthcare.


Erdogan stated that they are strong-minded to turn Türkiye into a global center in terms of healthcare attraction. It won’t be just a provider of services to its residents but also to others, said in April at the opening ceremony of a city hospitalthat is located in Kocaeli, the northwestern province of Türkiye.


The experts and insiders of the industry, to meet with the gals related to the development believed that a sustainable development policy is need of the hour.
